Viburnum Suspensum

Viburnum Suspensum, also known as Sandankwa Viburnum, is a dense evergreen shrub. Native to Japan, this shrub flourishes in areas with mild winters. Its foliage is leathery and coarse, with broad oval leaves. Viburnum Suspensum grows densely and regularly reaches between ten and twelve feet in both heights and spreads.

Viburnum Suspensum bloom from early spring through late summer. Their flowers are small, and tubular, with a light pink or white color that shows up well against the dark foliage. After summer has passed, these flowers give way to small red berries that are favorites of songbirds.

They are easy growers, thriving in most soil types, and are an ideal choice for shady areas where other viburnums might languish.

Due to their height and density, Viburnum Suspensum makes ideal choices for privacy screens, while their dark green, lustrous foliage makes them perfect candidates to serve as a backdrop for vibrant focal plants.
